St. Thomas University invites applications for a full-time Assistant/Associate Professor of Psychology faculty position. The successful candidate will contribute to the growth and excellence of the university's psychology program through teaching, research, and service. The faculty member will be expected to teach undergraduate and graduate courses, engage in scholarly activities, and participate in departmental and university service.

 

Key Responsibilities:
  • Teach a variety of undergraduate and graduate courses in psychology, including but not limited to general psychology, research methods, abnormal psychology, and other specialized courses in the candidate’s area of expertise.
  • Develop and deliver engaging, student-centered instruction using innovative teaching methodologies, including online and blended formats.
  • Advise and mentor students regarding academic and career goals.
  • Participate in curriculum development and program assessment initiatives.
  • Engage in service activities at the department, college, and university levels.
  • Foster a collaborative and inclusive learning environment that promotes diversity and student success.
QualificationsQualifications:
  • Ph.D. or Psy.D. in Psychology or a closely related field from an accredited institution.
  • Demonstrated excellence in teaching at the university level.
  • Evidence of scholarly activity and potential for continued research contributions.
  • Experience with student advising and mentoring.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with faculty, staff, and students.
  • Preferred: Experience in I/O or Forensic Psychology

Skills Required

  • Ph.D. or Psy.D. in Psychology or a closely related field from an accredited institution
  • Demonstrated excellence in teaching at the university level
  • Evidence of scholarly activity and potential for continued research contributions
  • Experience with student advising and mentoring
  • Ability to work collaboratively with faculty, staff, and students
  • Experience in Industrial-Organizational (I/O) or Forensic Psychology
