SUPERVISOR: Vice President of Long Term Care Services




Provides administrative oversight of assigned departments in all areas of operation including, but, not limited to maintaining a financially viable census, staffing considerations, policy and procedure development, and budgeting expenditures, and compliance with Department of Health regulations.


Provides Administrator coverage to the Health Care Center in the absence of the Administrator including weekend coverage as assigned by the Vice President of Long Term Care Services.


Completes audits as assigned, analyzes results and compiles any necessary corrective action and presents these results to the Quality Assurance Committee on a quarterly basis.


Assists with developing facility-wide inservices as necessary.


Acts as Corporate Compliance Officer including oversight of the plan, audits, training, and investigation of any internal complaints and development of corrective action as needed. Conducts quarterly Committee meetings.


Completes Department of Health reportable paperwork both initial and five-day reports as assigned in the absence of the Vice President of Long Term Care Services.


Is actively involved in the Department of Health recertification survey process as well as the implementation of any necessary plan of correction, including policy and procedure revisions, inservicing, and performing audits as assigned.


Review of all facility transfer agreements annually and ensures updates and renewals as warranted.


Coordinates and participates in any facility-wide disaster drills and/or missing resident drills. Evaluates the results of the drill and subsequently completes a written report of the drill and outcomes as well as any suggested corrections.


Assistant Administrator Job Description


Assists in any investigations regarding grievances, complaints, employee relations issues including gather of information, analyzing data in regard to any trends and reporting of this information to both the Vice President of Long Term Care Services and to the Quality Assurance Committee for follow-up and improvement.


Assists with obtaining any prior authorizations for prescriptions in the absence of the Health Information Manager.


Completion of weekly Department of Health Covid Report as well as assistance with the Annual Employee Flu Vaccine report as assigned.

- Quality Assurance;

- Leadership Management Team;

- Medical Advisory;

- Survey Outcome/Pl Meetings;

- Daily Morning Report;

- Quality Measures Meetings;

- Resident Council;

- Quarterly Pharmacy Meetings;

- Bi-Annual Optum Meetings;


Performs duties according to the highest ethical and moral standards and in adherence with the facility’s corporate compliance plan and all applicable governing laws. Adheres to the facility’s confidentiality statement in accessing and safeguarding protected health information (PHI) of residents and employees as necessary to perform job duties.


Performs any other functions as directed by the Vice President of Long Term Care Services.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in Health Services Management or related field.


Current New York State Nursing Home Administrator’s License.


At least two years experience in a health-related field.


Ability to work independently with good verbal and written communication skills.


Is familiar with Department of Health Nursing Home regulations.
