Join a collaborative and high-performing finance team supporting trans-Tasman operations.

We are seeking an Assistant Accountant to support our finance team 20-25 hours per week. This is an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented and proactive individual with strong technical accounting skills and a passion for process improvement.

About the Role:

Working closely with our Head of Finance and wider finance team, the Assistant Accountant will play a key role in ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of financial operations across our group of companies. Your primary focus will be on reconciliations, reporting, and supporting general accounting processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations across seven entities 
  • Prepare and post general journal entries
  • Manage credit card transaction processing for MR Australia
  • Reconcile Dr Pay reports for 2Cloud9
  • Compile and distribute daily pipeline reports
  • Maintain and update the debt spreadsheet 3–5 times per week
  • Assist with month end processing

About You:

You’re a confident and analytical accounting professional with a strong attention to detail and the ability to work independently. You enjoy working in a fast-paced environment and can manage competing priorities effectively.

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (intermediate to advanced level)
  • Solid understanding of accounting principles, including debits and credits
  • Familiarity with various accounting systems (e.g., Xero, MYOB, or similar)
  • Strong understanding of financial statements, including the relationship between the Profit & Loss and Balance Sheet
  • Excellent time management and communication skills
