Laboratory Automation Solutions, our clinical diagnostic division, specializes in the manufacture of small, innovative benchtop automation for optimizing pre- and post-analytical workflows in pathology laboratories, and has installations worldwide.
We are searching for an Assistant Accountant to join our finance team. The successful candidate will be responsible for Accounts activities, assisting with the preparation of management accounts, and supporting statutory account reporting and posting. Assistant Accountant
What you’ll do:
While working with the Finance team and Customer Care Group you will be involved with the following tasks:
Management Accounts:

Assist in the preparation of monthly management accounts, including variance analysis.

Support the preparation of monthly financial reports and commentary.
-
Assist in the annual budgeting and quarterly forecasting process.

Balance sheet reconciliations
-
Maintain fixed assets register.
Statutory Accounts and Reporting:
-
Assist in the preparation of financial accounts in accordance with relevant regulations and standards.
-
Prepare schedules and supporting documentation for statutory audits and tax returns.
-
Assist in the preparation of tax returns and other regulatory filings.
General Accounting Support:
-
Prepare monthly BAS submissions
-
Post journal entries and maintain the general ledger.
-
Reconcile bank statements and perform month-end closing activities.
-
Support the finance team with ad-hoc projects and reporting as required.
Accounts Receivable (AR) Management:
-
Monitor customer accounts for non-payment and delayed payments.
-
Reconcile AR ledger and follow up on outstanding payments.
-
Prepare and distribute monthly AR aging reports.
Accounts Payable (AP) Management:
-
Support full function Accounts Payable.
-
Relief during times of leave.
What you’ll bring:
-
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field.
-
Part-qualified or studying towards a recognized accounting degree (e.g., ACCA, CIMA, CPA).

2+ years of experience in a similar accounting role.

Experience working with multi-currency, global manufacturing and sales operations
-
Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.

Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., MS Navision, Oracle) and MS Office, particularly Excel.

Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
-
Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
