The Assistant Account Manager is responsible for overseeing custodial operations across the campus's 14 buildings, ensuring services are delivered efficiently and consistently in accordance with UG2 Facility Services' quality standards, direct cost budgets, and client expectations. Working closely with the Account Manager, this role provides day-to-day leadership for custodial staff, promotes operational excellence, and helps maintain a safe, clean, and welcoming environment while fostering high levels of customer satisfaction.
Major Responsibilities:
- Ensure the work that is scheduled is performed to maximize operational, contractual standards for account retention and customer satisfaction by utilizing CompuClean reporting software
- Weekly update and maintenance of the account’s projects calendar
- Monitor and ensure weekly reports are completed/submitted accurately and timely
- Daily assist, assign work schedules to Supervision and cleaning personnel
- Supervise “New Employee Orientation” training for all new cleaning personnel
- Maintain perpetual inventory for requisitioning appropriate supplies and equipment for account(s) daily operations
- Help create work orders and submit to regional office for ancillary services
- Maintain equipment for optimal production of services
- Assist in review, discipline, promote, and discharge of employees
- Help resolve any day-to-day operational problems
- Always demonstrate leadership qualities internally and externally
- Perform such other duties as assigned by Account Manager and Operations Manager
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Directly supervises 2 Night Shift Supervisors, Night Cleaners and a Floor Care Team. Assists/ supports in supervising 1 Day Shift Supervisor, Day Porters, and Weekend Cleaners. Carries out all responsibilities according to UG2’s policies and applicable laws. Included in (but not all inclusive): interviewing, assisting in hiring, training employees, planning, assigning/ directing work, reviewing performance, rewarding or disciplining employees, addressing complaints, and resolving any issues that arise.

Education / Experience:
Associate’s (A.A.) or higher degree from community college, university, two to three years related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Language Skills:
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions plus operational procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees.
Math Skills:
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry. Ability to read, interpret, and analyze budgets and job costing.
Reasoning Ability:
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with variables in situations where limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret various instructions furnished in written, oral, electronic, diagram, or schedule form.
Computer Skills:
Ability to use computer software required by UG2 systems including e-mail, electronic supply ordering, and time-keeping.
