Job Description
The multi-asset solutions team within J.P. Morgan Asset Management (JPMAM) provides asset allocation solutions for the investment management needs of corporate and public retirement plans, endowments and foundations, and retail investors. The team blends its capital markets, strategic and active asset allocation, portfolio construction and active risk budgeting capabilities with one of the broadest product offerings in the industry. Multi-asset solutions has been managing diversified portfolios for 50+ years. Consisting of more than 100 investment professionals located in New York, London and Asia, the group manages approximately $300 billion in global assets.
Job summary:
As the asset management multi-asset solutions retirement strategist - vice president on the asset management multi-asset retirement solutions team you will report to the Chief Retirement Strategist and will be responsible for the research, development and delivery of retirement insights to financial professionals and plan sponsors to improve retirement outcomes and reinforce JPMAM's thought leadership in the retirement space. You will thrive in a fast-paced setting and multi-faceted role and should have a passion for retirement and research, with relevant experience in the following areas:
Job responsibilities:
  • Research-driven insights supported by data and quantitative analysis
    • Analyze proprietary and external data across various platforms to identify behavioral trends among client segments.
    • Research savings and spending behaviors to develop strategic insights and implications for defined contribution plan fiduciaries, financial professionals and their clients.
  • Technical proficiency across the retirement planning and product landscape
    • Serve as a technical resource for JPMAM's Retirement Insights, with an eye on advancing our client agenda and providing subject-matter expertise across a variety of retirement planning topics.
    • Experience with a wide range of retirement-planning vehicles in defined contribution and individual retirement spaces, understanding their applications to meet a variety of client needs.
  • Client-facing activity and commercial mindset within a research-driven framework
    • Active pulse on the latest retirement trends, with the ability to translate data into plain English to position JPMAM as a thought leader across a global platform.
    • Excellent presentation skills across multiple audience types, with the ability to simplify the complex and deliver actionable messaging points via face-to-face presentations, white papers, bulletins, webcasts and industry events.
    • Travel is essential to effectively partner with client advisor teams, enabling the delivery of insights to a wide variety of clients.

Required qualifications, skills and capabilities:
  • Experience in leading research projects and developing content for diverse client audiences.
  • Proven presentation and public-speaking skills.
  • Ability to travel and deliver content in the field across various client settings.
  • Fiduciary and client-focused mindset.
  • Expert knowledge of retirement plan vehicles, rules and applications, or a strong desire to learn.
  • Understanding of roles and responsibilities of recordkeepers, consultants, plan sponsors, financial advisors and asset managers.
  • Ability to proactively engage internal stakeholders and share ideas across large, diverse teams in institutional and retail spaces.

Preferred qualifications, skills and capabilities:
  • Advanced degree or relevant industry designation (i.e. MBA; CFP®, CRPC®) is a plus.
