Each new client is assigned to a Client Service team which consists of a Client Advisor, Client Account Manager, Portfolio Manager and Investment Specialist.
As an Associate in the Investment Management Oversight team at J.P. Morgan Asset Management in Luxembourg, you will be responsible for reviewing whether funds/segregated mandates are operating within their objectives, investment strategy, terms and conditions of their investment mandates, legal requirements and regulatory requirements. You will be part of a team that conducts initial/on-going due diligence of delegated/sub-delegated investment managers. This role provides an opportunity to work closely with the Investment Directors and Investment Specialists, and to contribute to the firm's commitment to providing exceptional service to our clients and business partners.
Job Responsibilities

  • Work on due diligence of delegated portfolio managers, particularly in compliance with Section 6.2 of CSSF Circular 18/698. Sourcing and reviewing KPIs and reports regarding operational and control issues (e.g. investment guidelines, best execution, approved counterparties, PAG data, EMIR reconciliations)
  • Ensure delegates complete attestation questionnaire to a high standard (semi-annually). Enhancing questionnaire as required. Reviewing Guideline Management reports and breaches. Monitoring of eligible markets and eligible instruments in line with regulatory requirements
  • Interview investment management delegates as part of on-going due diligence. Writing due diligence reports for submission to ManCo for approval. Updating of Investment Management Agreements as required. Ensuring that delegation procedures are followed and documented, and procedure is updated as required.
  • Prepare reports for Management Committee, boards and regulators on issues regarding delegation. Implementing the JPMAME advisory model - analyzing and challenging advice received from portfolio managers as appropriate for segregated client mandates. On-boarding of new advisory mandates as required
  • Assist in oversight and investigation of funds/accounts, including monitoring and analysis of: Performance returns, absolute and relative to benchmark, tracking error and volatility and Flows - subscriptions and redemptions
  • Prepare and review, as part of weekly meeting to cover all funds (over a rolling 12-month period): Independent risk reports showing portfolio decomposition, concentrations, liquidity, stress tests, VaR and leverage triggers
  • Work on IDR reports including tracking error/vol, Barra analysis, active share etc. as appropriate. Morningstar reports on performance, peer comparison and rankings. Monitoring product launches and product strategy/benchmark changes. Review of in-scope new issues under EU Securitization Regulation
  • Prepare reports and agenda for Investment Oversight Committees/ Forums. Produce meeting write ups from JPMAME Investment Management Oversight Team Committee meetings and various other forums/meetings. Monitor daily credit quality exceptions for JPMAME MMFs.
  • Work closely with the Investment Directors and Investment Specialists


Required qualifications, capabilities and skills.

  • In depth knowledge of investment management/strategies, particularly alternatives
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills
  • Analytical skills and the ability to understand complex issues.
  • Prepared to undertake CFA or CAIA exams.
  • Ability to act on own initiative and fulfil objectives with minimum supervision.
  • Alerts others to problems, situations and opportunities
