As an Assessor you will play a vital role in empowering Individuals to overcome challenges, build resilience, and achieve meaningful recovery goals.

 

Gaudenzia's Mission: Gaudenzia's Mission is to promote long-term recovery by providing comprehensive treatment and support to people with substance use disorder, co-occurring mental health disorders, and related conditions, regardless of individual circumstances.


Qualifications: 

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, or related field and with one-year clinical experience and must hold a professional license through DOS or be credentialed through PCB at the time of hire or being working toward licensure or certification with a completion date of no longer than 3 years after date of hire. The “working toward” certification must be evidenced by a log maintained in the employee file that includes hours worked/hours of supervision/ required training needed to qualify for full licensure or certification as per the PA Department of State or PCB. Said log will be monitored for compliance and evidence of active pursuit of credentialing will be monitored. 
  • Minimum of 1–3 years of experience in behavioral health, intake, or assessment services 

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Experience in behavioral health, mental health, or substance use treatment 
  • Experience with level of care criteria (ASAM preferred)
  • Knowledge of DSM-5 diagnoses and evidence-based practices

 

Essential Functions, Duties & Responsibilities

  • Conduct biopsychosocial assessments, including mental health and substance use evaluations
  • Perform risk assessments for suicide, self-harm, or harm to others
  • Determine appropriate level of care using established criteria (e.g., ASAM, LOCUS, CALOCUS)
  • Develop initial treatment recommendations and coordinate admissions when appropriate
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including clinicians, nurses, and case managers
  • Provide crisis intervention and stabilization support as needed
  • Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant clinical documentation
  • Educate clients and families about treatment options and available services
  • Facilitate referrals to community resources and continuum of care services
  • Ensure compliance with HIPAA, licensing, and accreditation standards

  • Skilled at using computers, including familiarity with Microsoft Office Suites, and EHR Systems

Pay Range

$20.42-$22.00 per hour based upon experience

Skills Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, or related field
  • Must hold a professional license through the PA Department of State (DOS) or be credentialed through PCB at time of hire, or be actively working toward licensure/certification with completion within 3 years
  • Minimum of 1-3 years of experience in behavioral health, intake, or assessment services
  • Ability to conduct biopsychosocial and risk assessments, determine level of care, and develop treatment recommendations
  • Experience operating electronic health record (EHR) systems and proficiency with Microsoft Office
  • Experience with level of care criteria (ASAM)
  • Knowledge of DSM-5 diagnoses and evidence-based practices
  • Experience in behavioral health, mental health, or substance use treatment
