Job Description
Motorola Solutions is seeking a skilled Assembly Tech to perform a variety of tasks related to the assembly, testing, and troubleshooting of electronic and mechanical components for our communication systems. This role requires attention to detail, a commitment to quality, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Job Responsibilities
* Assemble electronic and mechanical components and sub-assemblies according to blueprints, schematics, and work instructions.
* Utilize hand tools, power tools, and specialized equipment to fasten, connect, and calibrate parts.
* Perform quality checks and visual inspections of assembled products to ensure adherence to specifications and quality standards.
* Conduct basic functional testing of assembled units and identify any defects or malfunctions.
* Troubleshoot and diagnose assembly issues, performing rework or adjustments as necessary.
* Record production data, including completed units, defects, and assembly times.
* Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to all safety protocols and procedures.
* Collaborate with engineering and quality teams to identify and resolve production challenges.
* Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to optimize assembly processes.
* May assist in the training of new assembly personnel.
Basic Requirements
* High school diploma or equivalent required. Technical certification or associate's degree in electronics or a related field preferred.
* 1-3 years of experience in an assembly or manufacturing environment, preferably with electronic components.
* Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, schematics, and work instructions.
* Experience with various hand tools (e.g., screwdrivers, wrenches, pliers) and power tools.
* Basic understanding of electronic components and their functions.
* Strong attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a dynamic production setting.
* Good manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.
* Basic computer skills for data entry and accessing work instructions.
* Ability to lift and move up to 25 pounds regularly and stand for extended periods.
