Position Description: Responsible for the strategic sourcing & purchasing of direct/indirect materials & indirect services within the scope of site procurement and building strong relationships with the suppliers to ensure production continuity. The incumbent will be responsible for the identification & realization of initiatives aimed at improving the overall performance of assigned spend categories. Analyzing controls & procedures to ensure organizational effectiveness will be a cornerstone of the role.

Functions, Duties, Tasks:

  • Ensure that the needs of the local business are met through an adequate supply of goods, equipment and services while ensuring compliance needs, all laws & internal policies, procedures, practices and global category strategies.
  • Efficiently execute operational day-to-day purchasing (order processing) services for materials and services
  • Promote value creation through the local implementation of category strategies for the acquisition of goods and services by optimizing cost, quantity, time and quality, and the provision of innovation.
  • Monitor compliance with pricing standards in site business plan to minimize adverse PPV.
  • Run sourcing events and process Purchase Orders/Requisitions
  • Defend the commercial and legal interests of the local business by setting up purchase contracts, managing disputes and mediation with suppliers.
  • Collaborates with the Centralized Procurement Team to ensure set up new of vendors and any changes to Vendor Master Data required.
  • Collaborate with Supply Chain to make necessary updates to procurement aspects of Material Master Data, as well as maintain vendor master data, terms and conditions in the system.
  • Leverages superior analytical skills to collaborate with Site Leadership on service level agreements, supplier issues, and other material planning aspects.
  • Implement an ongoing Vendor KPIs/Supplier Scorecards, working with suppliers to develop strategies for improving deficient performance.
  • Enforce specific rules on procurement, procurement procedures and financial policies (FRAP).
  • Responsible for implementation of global category strategy at local level
  • Educate stakeholders, local budget owners about applicable procurement guidelines compliance

Leverage the Elanco Global Procurement team & act as the key business partner for the:

  • Review quotes and contract language escalating to the Elanco Global resource where appropriate
  • Support Quality group as it relates to supplier compliance initiatives including aid in maintaining an approved supplier lists; being first contact for Quality complains to ensure formal follow up on time and ensure assistance for users regarding the purchase of goods and services
  • Review MRP reports & process purchase orders for materials requirements from approved suppliers.
  • Work with Supply Chain to ensure materials are on-hand, on time, & available to support technical operations schedules by following up on deliveries. For delays, provide timely communication to the appropriate internal customers.
  • Collaborate with Supply Chain Planners to maintain inventory levels in accordance with organization goals, by reviewing & maintaining MRP data
  • Provide country-specific market intelligence to mitigate supply risk, gain competitive advantage and make better business decisions.

Minimum Qualifications (education, experience and/or training, required certifications):

  • University degree in Industrial Engineering, Business or related careers
  • 5 years in a similar capacity (i.e. – Procurement / Supply Chain / Logistics).
  • Strong spoken and written English
  • Strong experience and skills using sourcing modules for SAP/Ariba/Other ERP systems

  • Experience or knowledge of a Manufacturing (GMP) environment
