Job Description: Asia (Emerging Markets) Equity Sales — North America Coverage
Role Summary
We are seeking an equity sales professional (5–6 years’ experience) to grow and service North American institutional clients across Pan‑Asia Emerging Markets equities. The role sits on the Asia Sales Desk and is responsible for driving secondary trading ideas, corporate access engagement, and coordinated coverage with Asia‑based trading, research, and ECM teams.
Key Coverage / Product Scope
- Region: Pan‑Asia Emerging Markets (e.g., China/HK, Korea, Taiwan, India, ASEAN)
- Product: Cash equities (and equity‑linked solutions as applicable), sector/thematic idea flow, corporate access, research distribution
- Clients: North American institutions (e.g., long‑only, hedge funds, pension/sovereign, endowments, family offices)
Responsibilities
Client Coverage & Revenue Generation
- Own and expand a portfolio of North American institutional accounts for Asia EM equities; develop multi‑year revenue plans and quarterly execution targets.
- Generate trading and advisory revenue through differentiated idea origination, sector/thematic positioning, and timely market color.
- Partner with Asia execution/trading to deliver high‑quality outcomes on block/illiquid names and event‑driven flows.
Market Intelligence & Idea Delivery
- Provide clients with actionable market updates, flows, technical, and event catalysts across Asia EM.
- Distribute research effectively and translate it into tradeable recommendations; tailor messaging by client style (LO vs HF, fundamental vs quant).
- Identify cross‑market relative value, sector rotations, index/rebalance implications, and macro‑to‑micro linkages relevant to Asia EM.
Corporate Access & Franchise Development
- Coordinate corporate access (NDRs, reverse roadshows, conferences, 1x1s) aligned with client priorities and firm objectives.
- Work with Research, IBD/ECM, and country coverage to position the franchise around key corporates and event calendars.
Internal Coordination & Execution Excellence
- Act as a bridge between North America clients and Asia‑based teams (sales, trading, research, syndicate).
- Maintain strong day‑to‑day execution discipline: indications, IOIs, axes, follow‑ups, post‑trade reviews, and pipeline management.
- Contribute to desk strategy, including coverage segmentation, product initiatives, and marketing content.
Risk, Controls, and Conduct
- Operate within all applicable policies and regulatory frameworks (e.g., information barriers, communications/recordkeeping).
- Ensure appropriate handling of sensitive information; escalate issues promptly and adhere to best execution and suitability standards as applicable.
- Maintain accurate client records and activity tracking in CRM systems.
Qualifications & Experience
- 5–6 years of experience in equities sales (cash equities preferred) with demonstrated client interaction and revenue contribution.
- Strong knowledge of Asia Emerging Markets equities and key regional market structure (liquidity, trading hours, local conventions).
- Proven ability to communicate investment views clearly and credibly with sophisticated institutional clients.
- Track record of building internal networks and collaborating across time zones.
- Bachelor’s degree required; relevant licenses/registrations as required for the jurisdiction (or ability to obtain promptly).

The salary offered will take into consideration an individual’s experience level and qualifications.
