Our AI-driven platform automates notoriously inefficient processes—such as prior authorizations, discharge planning, claims processing, and pharmacy operations. About the JobAs a Frontend Software Engineer at Ascertain, you will define and lead the development of Ascertain’s user-facing applications. As one of our earliest engineering hires, you’ll shape our frontend strategy, select modern technologies, and establish best practices that will influence our engineering culture for years to come.
You’ll collaborate directly with product, design, and customers, ensuring we build intuitive, user-focused solutions that genuinely solve complex healthcare challenges. While your primary focus will be frontend, our team is small and we value engineers who can make backend changes when needed to fully own a feature.
What You'll Do:- Design and develop intuitive front-end applications using React and TypeScript.
- Work closely with product managers, designers, and other engineers to define technical requirements and translate them into robust software solutions.
- Participate in code reviews, providing constructive feedback and ensuring high-quality code standards.
- Mentor junior developers and contribute to fostering a collaborative engineering culture.
- Contribute to improving software development processes and best practices.
- 5+ years of experience in front-end development using React and TypeScript.
- Some back-end experience to integrate comfortably with APIs and pragmatically contribute across the stack as needed.
- A strong product mindset—you genuinely want to understand our customers, challenge assumptions, and directly influence product decisions.
- Experience in ambiguous startup environments, proactively take ownership, and communicate clearly across teams.
- Excitement (not just willingness!) to dive into new technologies, learn quickly, and step beyond your comfort zone in a rapidly evolving environment.
