Job Description

Location: Midlands Field based

SGS is seeking a skilled and dedicated Asbestos Consultants to join our team. You will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety of our clients and the general public by identifying and assessing potential asbestos-containing materials in buildings.

Responsibilities:

Conducting thorough asbestos surveys in accordance with HSE guidelines and regulations.
Identifying and sampling suspected asbestos-containing materials.
Recording accurate and detailed survey findings using digital or paper-based systems.
Assessing the condition and risk of identified asbestos materials.
Providing clear and concise reports to clients, including recommendations for management or removal.
Collaborating with other team members to ensure project deadlines are met.
Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of asbestos legislation, industry standards, and best practices.
Adhering to health and safety protocols at all times.
Communicating effectively with clients, colleagues, and other stakeholders.

Qualifications

Certification or qualification in asbestos surveying P403, P404 certification or RSPH equivalent
Proven experience as an Asbestos Surveyor, ideally within a similar role or environment.
Strong knowledge of asbestos-related legislation, regulations, and guidelines.
Excellent attention to detail and the ability to accurately record and document survey findings.
Proficient computer skills, including experience with survey software and Microsoft Office.
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team, managing multiple projects simultaneously.
A valid driving license and willingness to travel to various sites as required.
