There is only one vacancy, the position is posted at two levels, BA II and BA III. The AS 5 business analyst’s primary responsibility includes partnering with business lines to assess the design of internal controls and complete key control testing on behalf of division management.
Responsibilities:
Participate in projects and performs intermediate analytical tasks in support of Department, Bank, FRS and/or federal agency initiatives.
Participate in Department, Bank, FRS and/or federal agency project teams and work groups. Complete special assignments, studies, and analyses.
Analyze business functions and operational process improvements and/or enhancements. Test, train, and complete implementations, which may include coordinating activities such as developing plans, completing risk assessments, assigning tasks, monitoring and reporting progress, and preparing necessary communications.
Provide intermediate analytic support to Department liaisons for Department, Bank, FRS and/or federal agency staff and management in resolving moderately complex operational and business issues. Escalates difficult and complex questions or problems to other analysts or management.
Assist in preparing and/or revising communications, including proposals, reports, and presentations for all levels of management. Develop and revise procedures, define processes, and deliver training to users and staff.
Monitor and verify compliance with applicable new and existing policies, procedures, and standards.
Provide training to less experienced analytical staff.
AS5 Responsibilities:
Understand respective division processes, risks, and internal controls.
Evaluate the effectiveness of ICFR by conducting testing of department identified internal key controls.
Follow Federal Reserve System and Ninth District AS 5 guidance on testing and documenting work.
Prepare and submit testing workpapers for approval while meeting key deadlines in the AS 5 testing cycle.
Assist or lead in preparing reports, developing presentations and providing training.
Interact with various levels of department staff and management as appropriate.
Required Qualifications at the Business Analyst II level:
Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of three (3) years or more of analytical and/or project management experience to include experience assessing internal controls. An equivalent combination of education and related work experience may be considered.
Some experience in communicating and presenting recommendations to various business lines and multiple levels of staff.
Proficient with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Internet Explorer.
Preferred: Coursework in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, or in a related field.
Required Qualifications at the BA III level:
Bachelor’s degree and minimum of five (5) or more years of analytical and/or project management experience to include experience assessing internal controls. An equivalent combination of education and related work experience may be considered.
Experience in communicating and presenting recommendations to various business lines and multiple levels of staff.
Proficient with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Internet Explorer.
Certification desirable (e.g., CPA, CIA, or CISA).
Preferred: Coursework in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, or in a related field.
Expected at both levels:
Strong critical thinking, able to voice perspectives appropriately while supporting final decisions with professionalism and commitment.
Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to learn and apply new concepts quickly.
Ability to handle multiple priorities simultaneously.
Excellent team player with the ability to work independently.

Business Analyst II $67,900 $84,892 $101,900. The expected starting salary range is $68,000-$84,892
Business Analyst III $82,100- $102,675 - $123,200. The expected starting salary range is $82,100- $102,675
