Job Summary
As a AS400 tape operator, you will be responsible for managing and maintaining the AS400 tape library, ensuring data backups and restores are executed efficiently and securely.
Responsibilities and Duties
Key Responsibilities
Oversee the AS400 tape library, including labeling, cataloging, and storing tapes. Perform daily backups, ensure successful backup completion, and execute restores as needed. Rotate tapes according to the backup schedule, ensuring data is properly stored and retrievable. Monitor the AS400 system, resolving tape-related issues and performing basic troubleshooting. Ensure adherence to organizational data storage and security policies. Maintain accurate records and provide reports on backup and restore activities.
Qualifications and Skills :
Basic AS400 knowledge (minimum 2 years experience)
Basic IT knowledge of IBM I Server and Tape library
