Job Title: AS400 Developer
Software Developer – AS400
Job Functions / Responsibilities
Analyze, design, develop, implement changes to existing AS400 applications
Participate in the evaluation, build, testing, and implementation of new products and the modification of existing products
Define and propose solutions for enhancements and system changes
Collaborate with Managers, Business Analysts, Architects, and subject matter experts to establish the technical vision and analyze tradeoffs between usability and performance needs
Estimate development tasks, define work efforts and timelines, provide project statuses
Work with testers and business teams to triage defects and ensure changes are migrated into production correctly
Participate in Agile/Scrum activities (sprint planning, retrospectives, and daily sprint meetings)
Provide on-going production support for AS400 systems and applications
Perform tasks regarding change control, incident management, and audit
Support SOX and IT Security guidelines to ensure all systems are kept in compliance
Create and update the appropriate system documentation
Qualifications and Skills
8+ years of demonstrated skills for the development and maintenance support of complex applications (package and custom solutions)
Experience with AS400 iSeries, RPG (including ILE and free form), ACOM, and ShowCase Query
System administration, including AS400 access management, security, and printers
Management of AS400 scheduled and interactive jobs
Experience with SQL preferred
Strong team building and consensus building skills
In-depth development methodology and system implementation experience
Self-motivated and able to work effectively with little or no supervision
Effective communication, prioritization, and problem-solving skills
Ability to work effectively in a team environment, customer support environment, and with all levels of the organization
Education
BA/BS Degree in Computer Science / Information Technology, or related field.
Skills Required
