Market Operations Technology is a dynamic, global and diverse Organization, supporting operations areas that have a presence in over 60 Countries.  Our Technology groups develop and implement a wide range of applications that support the Operations groups which are core to the success of the Markets business and has significant impact across the lifecycle of a Trade by providing innovative products and solutions. We partner extensively with a range of internal stakeholders including product aligned Middle Office groups, Settlements, Margin, Asset Servicing, Listed Derivative & Commodities Operations. We support an extensive range of Capital Markets products and services including Fixed Income (FX, Rates, Credit, Muni, Cash and Derivatives) where Citi is consistently a dominant top 3 player in the market, Equity (Cash, Derivatives, Prime Brokerage, Futures, Listed Derivatives, FXPB) where Citi has a significant growth program to continue to build out its capabilities and services; and Syndicates where we support both FI and EQ new issues and IPOs. ML Solutions team within Markets OPS Technology is dedicated to developing solutions using Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning and Generative AI. This team is a leader in creating new ideas, innovative technology solutions, and ground-breaking solutions for Markets Operations and Other Line of Businesses. We work closely with our clients and business partners to progress solutions from ideation to production by leveraging the entrepreneurial spirit and technological excellence.

Job Description:

ML Solutions team is seeking a highly skilled and experienced AI/ML Tech Lead with a strong background in developing and deploying AI/ML models and Gen AI based solutions. In this hands-on role, you will be responsible for taking AI models from concept to production, utilizing traditional AI, generative AI and Large Language Models. You will collaborate closely with business partners and stakeholders to introduce and embrace these advanced technologies, elevating client experiences, delivering value to our customers, and ensuring regulatory compliance through cutting-edge technology solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Hands-On Execution and Delivery: Lead by example and actively contribute to the Design, Development and Delivery of AI solutions, driving innovation and excellence within the team. Take a hands-on approach to ensure AI models are successfully deployed into production environments, meeting high-quality standards and performance benchmarks.
• Quality Control: Ensure the quality and performance of generative AI models, conducting rigorous testing and evaluation.
• Research and Development: Lead and participate in research activities to explore and advance state-of-the-art generative AI techniques. Stay actively engaged in monitoring ongoing research efforts, keeping abreast of emerging trends, and ensuring that the Generative AI team remains at the forefront of the field.
• Leadership: Build & Lead a High-Performing Team - Hire, mentor, and manage a team of AI specialists, ensuring the acquisition and retention of top talent in the AI/ML space.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate effectively with various teams, including product managers, engineers, and data scientists, to integrate AI technologies into products and services.
• Stakeholder Engagement: Work closely with business stakeholders across the bank to drive the adoption of generative AI and Large Language Models, identifying opportunities for innovation and value creation.
• Regulatory Compliance: Ensure that AI initiatives meet regulatory requirements while pushing the boundaries of technology innovation.
• Strategy Implementation: Support execution of the strategy for generative AI research and development, aligning it with the bank's overarching goals and objectives

Engineering Excellence & Best Practices:
 

• Drive the adoption of modern engineering ways of working, including Agile, DevOps, and CI/CD.
• Advocate for automated testing, infrastructure as code, and continuous monitoring to enhance software reliability.
• Apply Behavior-Driven Development (BDD), Test-Driven Development (TDD), and unit testing to ensure code quality and functionality.
• Conduct thorough code reviews, ensuring adherence to best practices in readability, performance, and security.
• Implement and enforce secure coding practices, performing vulnerability assessments and ensuring compliance with security standards.
• Collaborate effectively in agile environments, embracing DevOps principles and fostering a culture of continuous delivery and improvement.

Skills & Qualifications:

• Strong hands-on experience in Machine Learning, delivering complex solutions to production.
• 6 - 8 years of relevant experience is a MUST
• Experience with Generative AI technologies essential.
• In-depth knowledge of deep learning and Generative AI frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, Langchain, LangGraph, CrewAI and similar.
• Experience with and other open-source frameworks/ libraries/ APIs like Hugging Face Transformers, Spacy, Pandas.
• Proficiency in Python Software Development, following Object-Oriented design patterns and best practices.
• Experience with evaluation, scoring with framework like ML Flow
• Experience of Docker container and edited a Docker file, experience with K8s is a plus.
• Experience with Postgres and Vector DBs a plus.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to think creatively.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams
• Publications and contributions to the AI research community are a plus.
• Bachelor’s/Master’s degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, or a related field.

Primary Location Full Time Salary Range:

$142,320.00 - $213,480.00
