Position Summary

Terrible's is seeking a vigilant, professional, and safety-focused Armed Security Transport Officer to safeguard company cash, valuables, and personnel during transport operations. This position is responsible for the secure collection, transportation, reconciliation, and delivery of cash and other monetary assets while maintaining the highest standards of security, regulatory compliance, and customer service.

Individuals in this role have an affirmative duty to minimize operational risks and help prevent loss resulting from internal or external fraud, theft, or other criminal activity.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

Cash & Asset Transportation

  • Safely transport cash, deposits, and other valuables between company locations.
  • Protect employees, company vehicles, and transported assets during pickups, transit, and deliveries.
  • Follow all established security procedures and armored transport protocols.

Communication

  • Maintain continuous communication with dispatch and department leadership.
  • Immediately report emergencies, incidents, route changes, or suspicious activity.

Security Awareness

  • Remain alert to potential threats, hazards, or suspicious behavior.
  • Identify vulnerable areas along transportation routes and exercise increased vigilance.
  • Monitor surroundings to ensure a secure environment for personnel and company assets.

Reconciliation & Accountability

  • Reconcile transported deposits, cash, and valuables daily.
  • Accurately document discrepancies and report any shortages or overages immediately.

Access Control

  • Verify identification and authorize access to restricted areas.
  • Ensure only authorized personnel have access to secured locations and transported assets.

Documentation

  • Complete accurate reports detailing daily activities, incidents, irregularities, equipment damage, theft, unauthorized access, and other unusual occurrences.
  • Maintain all required transportation and security documentation.

Conflict Resolution

  • Respond to conflicts professionally using sound judgment and de-escalation techniques.
  • Protect employees and guests while maintaining safety and security.

Law Enforcement Coordination

  • Coordinate with local law enforcement agencies when necessary.
  • Assist with investigations involving criminal activity, theft, or security incidents.

Safety & Compliance

  • Adhere to all company policies, security procedures, firearm regulations, and applicable laws.
  • Follow proper firearm handling procedures and maintain all required qualifications.
  • Utilize required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).

Training

  • Participate in ongoing security, firearm, compliance, and emergency response training.
  • Maintain all required certifications and qualifications.

Customer Service

  • Provide courteous and professional assistance to employees and guests.
  • Address security concerns while promoting a safe and welcoming environment.

Qualifications:

Experience

  • Previous experience as an Armed Security Officer or Armed Security Guard required.
  • Experience transporting cash, valuables, or other high-value assets preferred.
  • Cash handling and reconciliation experience preferred.

Licenses & Certifications

  • Valid Armed Security Guard license.
  • Valid permit to carry a firearm as required by the State of Nevada.
  • Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.

Required Training

  • Successful completion of approved security training.
  • Firearms safety and qualification training.
  • Use of force training.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Strong observation and surveillance skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to remain calm and make sound decisions under pressure.
  • Strong problem-solving and conflict resolution abilities.
  • High level of integrity, professionalism, and attention to detail.

Background Requirements

  • Must successfully pass a comprehensive background investigation.
  • Must pass a pre-employment drug screening.

Additional Eligibility:

Candidates must meet one of the following qualifications:

  • Hold a current Nevada Concealed Carry Weapon (CCW) permit.
  • Be an active-duty law enforcement officer within the State of Nevada.
  • Be a retired law enforcement officer possessing a current Law Enforcement Officers Safety Act (LEOSA) identification card.

Language Skills

  • Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
  • Ability to understand safety rules, operating procedures, policy manuals, and written instructions.
  • Ability to prepare accurate written reports and documentation.

Reasoning Ability

  • Ability to apply sound judgment and common sense in carrying out written, oral or diagrammed instructions.
  • Ability to analyze situations involving multiple variables and respond appropriately using established procedures.

Certificates, Licenses & Permits

Employees must be able to obtain and maintain all licenses and permits required by federal, state, and local regulations, including:

  • Certified Protection Professional (CPP) or Physical Security Professional (PSP) certification through ASIS International preferred.
  • Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE) certification preferred.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Nevada Armed Security Officer license.
  • First Aid, CPR, and AED certifications preferred.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain all required Gaming and Non-Gaming registrations and licenses as required by the Nevada Gaming Control Board.
  • Ability to successfully complete all required firearms qualifications and maintain certification.
