If you’re excited to work directly with our small team in their day-to-day operations, as well as our growing company, we want you to join as our Architectural Maintenance Technician.

The Job:

  • Perform and/or assist with execution of interior and exterior building maintenance, repairs and installation relating to roofs, doors/associated hardware (electric mortise/door contacts/lock-sets), ceilings, floors, glass, walls, office furniture, laboratory casework, fixtures, shelving, racking, shades, artwork, windows, handrails, painting, concrete, masonry, stone, curbing, roads, etc. Cubicle installation and rework is a plus.
  • Requires finish quality carpentry skills, inclusive of demo, framing, casework, and finish work. General working knowledge of commercial building mechanical, electrical, plumbing systems a plus. Required use of hand and power tools.
  • Must have the ability to determine scopes of work and root cause analysis. Provide solutions/alternatives to tasks, jobs or small projects. Develop a work plan, source and order all necessary materials.
  • Assist with 3rd party vendor coordination with other contracted site services.
  • Ensure work is performed as planned and services are delivered safely. 
  • Obtain safe work documentation when needed for all projects and coordinate any required safety training necessary for contractors with our EHS department. 
  • Will be required to perform job duties with limited instructions and supervision. Safe and clean work habits are required. 
  • Coordinate and communicate work load in laboratories and offices to ensure optimal performance and operational fluidity.
  • Employees are responsible for following all established safety, environmental and health requirements associated with the job, task or function being performed. 
  • Work from diagrams, drawings, equipment specifications and verbal instructions in order to properly lay out various job assignments. 
  • Schedule, distribute and follow-up work orders and preventive maintenance procedures to ensure that all work is performed and completed in an efficient and timely manner using our internal work order system.

You:

  • 3-5 years’ experience in a construction environment or commercial/industrial experience working in a similar role
  • Demonstrated analytical and troubleshooting skills, excellent safe work habits. 
  • Organized work environment skills and good understanding of documentation requirements. 
  • Ability to work extended hours. This may occasionally include weekends and holidays to meet required project(s) schedule and workload. 
  • Must be able to be on call and carry a cell phone to respond to facility emergencies; duties are divided amongst the team. 
  • Stooping, standing, climbing and frequent lifting of a minimum of 50 lbs. of equipment (pump, tools, ladders) and ability to safely install rigging/lifting device
  • Lift and carry objects of up to 50 lbs. for distances of up to 30 feet
  • Climb ladders and stairs.
  • Maintain professional appearance and manner at all times while in the complex.
  • Communication and computer skills required
  • Strong oral and written communication skills. 
  • Employees must possess a valid driver license and be eligible to work in the US.
