GOAL OF THE POSITION / KEY RESULTS AREA

This position will help identify, evaluate and assist with the development and commercialization of Raspberry, blackberry, blueberry and Strawberry solutions invented at Driscoll’s or learned from others to produce maximum profits for growers by decreasing fruit waste, increasing yield of delightful fruit for our consumers and customers.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Define, prioritize and communicate regional research needs and gaps from Iberia:
• Create and execute research trials and innovative processes for genetic deployment and increase grower profitability
• Build/Collaborate in best management practices documents;
• Transfer of knowledge to and from other regions and between growers.
• Support and collect information in On Farm Trials to improve new genetic selections performance and ensure their successful commercialization;
• Be a connection to Breeding, Agronomy and Global Research.
• Help organize field days demonstrations and tours to show high potential of varieties and new production techniques between growers;
• In collaboration with Operations will be assisting with:
  • Allocate plants of new selections for OFT/Demo trials.
  • Help update Production Guides with most relevant information;
• Farming: Help consult in growing test plots/nurseries and grower trials that support the work of research and breeding departments in the regions. Report accurate records throughout growing season in response to changes in field and test plots.
• Realize the necessary cultural operations for AR trials and realize observation and data collection on those;
• Any other tasks requested by management which is expected to be within the job holders qualities and qualifications

• Contributes to the Business Unit’s people priorities and objectives regarding: people leader effectiveness, engaged employees, and enabling others to perform.
• Domestic and international travel required up to 20%.
• Represents Driscoll’s in an ethical and business-like professional manner in all interactions with growers, co-workers, suppliers, customers and the business community at large.
