Job Summary
The Accounting Analyst is responsible for supporting the financial operations of the organization through accurate reporting, analysis, and reconciliation activities. This role works closely with the accounting team to prepare financial statements, monitor transactions, and ensure compliance with accounting standards and internal controls. The Accounting Analyst provides insights that improve financial performance, assists with audits, and supports process improvement initiatives within the department.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Prepares, reviews, and analyzes monthly financial statements and reports.
- Performs account reconciliations, journal entries, and variance analysis to ensure accuracy of financial data.
- Supports the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes.
- Assists with internal and external audits by preparing schedules, documentation, and reports.
- Analyzes financial data and trends to identify risks, opportunities, and performance drivers.
- Monitors compliance with GAAP, company policies, and applicable regulatory requirements.
- Assists in developing and maintaining internal accounting policies and procedures.
- Collaborates with cross-functional teams to support budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning.
- Participates in process improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and accuracy of financial operations.
- Performs other duties and special projects as assigned by management.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.
- 2–4 years of accounting or financial analysis experience preferred.
- Strong understanding of GAAP and general accounting principles.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, with advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, formulas).
- Experience with ERP or accounting systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, or similar) preferred.
- Effective communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
