- An Accounts Receivable (AR) Analyst is responsible for managing the company’s incoming payments and ensuring the timely collection of outstanding invoices. This role involves monitoring the accounts receivable ledger, including tracking overdue accounts, and performing detailed analysis on aging reports to identify late payments and potential credit risks. The AR Analyst works closely with both the finance team and other departments like sales and customer service to resolve discrepancies, address customer queries, and ensure that payments are processed accurately and efficiently.
- Key responsibilities include preparing and sending invoices, applying payments to the correct accounts, reconciling customer statements, and performing collections activities to minimize bad debt. The AR Analyst is involved in supporting cash flow forecasting by providing up-to-date receivables data.
- The role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently and within a team. Excellent communication and negotiation skills are essential to handle customer interactions effectively and maintain positive relationships. Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel is crucial for reporting and data analysis. AR Analysts are key contributors to the financial health and smooth operations of the company.
