Doctorat complété ou en voie d’être complété en développement international ou dans un domaine connexe; expérience en enseignement universitaire un atout. Les sujets possibles dans le domaine « environnement, ressources naturelles et durabilité » pourraient s'inspirer des thèmes du développement durable et des modes de vie durables, tels que l’écologie politique, le financement de la lutte contre le changement climatique, les catastrophes naturelles, les liens entre l'environnement et le développement, etc.   À moins que le sujet de ce séminaire avancé ne soit déjà déterminé par l’ÉDIM, les candidat-es doivent faire approuver le sujet qu’elles ou ils proposent par le département.   Dans les deux cas, les candidat-es doivent soumettre une ébauche de plan de cours (une à deux pages) indiquant comment ils-elles entendent répondre aux attentes du cours (thème, contenu, littérature, pédagogie).
