Our Munitions teams in Benalla and Mulwala produce propellants, explosives and munitions for defence and commercial uses. With ongoing investment into research and development, we produce some of the world’s most high-performing guided weapons and explosive ordnance systems. And being at the forefront of a rapidly evolving industry gives our teams constant opportunities to build on their technical expertise.
YOUR ROLE
Working at our site in Benalla, on Pangerang land, your role purpose is to commence and complete a registered apprenticeship in Certificate III in Engineering - Mechanical Trade (Fitting/ Machining) which is typically a 4-year apprenticeship. You will perform a range of mechanical work including:
Manufacturing of all types of steel
Examining drawings to determine material and equipment requirements
Safely using basic hand tools, battery tools, electric and pneumatic tools
Performing fabrication and welding processes
YOUR EXPERIENCE
As a first-year apprentice, we'll expect you to bring the following skills and behaviours:
Genuine interest in gaining a trade qualification
Sound literacy and numeracy skills
Ability to work as part of a team
Strong communication skills
AUSTRALIAN DEFENCE ROLES & SECURITY
A Defence security clearance is required for this role, applicants must be Australian citizens and eligible to obtain and maintain an appropriate clearance.
Additional information with regards to clearances is available from the Australian Government Security Vetting Agency website http://www.defence.gov.au/AGSVA/. In some cases, individuals who hold a current clearance from a foreign government may be eligible to have this clearance recognised by the Australian Government and be eligible for this role. The Australian Defence Trade Controls Act (DTCA) is applicable and as such, your nationality may be a factor in determining your suitability for this role.
