Job Description – Apprentice E & I Engineer (Electrical & Instrumentation)
Job Description:
The Apprentice E&I Engineer is responsible to supports the Electrical & Instrumentation team in design, documentation, and coordination activities across multiple projects while learning industry standards and engineering practices.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist in preparing and revision electrical and instrumentation drawings, data sheets, and documents.
- Support in creation and revision of cable schedules, IO lists, and junction box termination drawings.
- Learn to interpret P&IDs, wiring diagram and other E&I documentation.
- Support review of vendor documents and specifications / data sheets.
- Assist in technical evaluations and gathering information from vendors.
- Assist in review of vendor drawing and document for approval
- Coordinate with other disciplines (mechanical, process, piping etc) for interface requirements.
- Learn and assist in sizing of cables and cable trays.
- Learn and assist in making conceptual cable tray routes in 3D model
- Learn and assist the review of 3D model for E&I components.
- Learn to review customer contract documents and prepare specification extract sheets.
- Learn and adhere to the Jord’s internal systems and procedures.
- Perform special tasks as assigned
Skills and Experience:
- Graduate or Postgraduate in Instrumentation, Electronics or Electrical Engineering
- Good academic records
- Basic understanding of instrumentation & control items like sensors, transmitters, control valves, PLCs etc, electrical circuits, control systems.
- Basic knowledge on electrical motors, cables, meters etc.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office tools, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
- Familiar with AutoCAD, or similar drafting tools
- Be attentive to detail
- Strong willingness to learn and adapt
- Must have excellent English communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Able to collect information, listen and speak effectively and present information clearly and concisely with others whose first language is not English
Skills Required
