You’ll get real responsibility and client exposure from the start, while learning alongside experienced colleagues who will support you as your confidence and technical knowledge develop.

Our Business Services team gives you broad experience across accounts, tax, bookkeeping and VAT, helping you understand how businesses really work rather than limiting you to one narrow area too early in your career.

Your professional training is fully funded, with dedicated study support alongside practical, on-the-job learning.

And there’s room to build a long-term career here. Progression at Ballards is driven by your development, ambition and readiness, as you grow, your responsibility and opportunities can grow with you.

Earn while you learn. Build real experience. Develop a career that can grow with you.

What you’ll do

  • Build your understanding of corporation tax and, where required, personal tax work.
  • Gain practical experience in bookkeeping and VAT and learn how accurate financial information supports businesses.
  • Work with colleagues and clients to gather information, resolve routine queries and keep work moving to deadline.
  • Develop your technical knowledge, confidence and commercial understanding while working across our Worcester and Droitwich teams.

What you’ll get

  • Fully funded professional accountancy training and study support through your apprenticeship.
  • Real client experience and meaningful work from the start.
  • Mentoring, feedback and structured career development.
  • Broad exposure across accounts, tax, bookkeeping and VAT.
  • 25 days’ holiday plus bank holidays.
  • Pension, life assurance and Employee Assistance Programme.
  • Electric Car and Cycle to Work schemes.

Who we’re looking for

You don’t need previous accountancy practice experience. We’re looking for someone who is curious about business and finance, comfortable with numbers and motivated to learn and build a career in accountancy.

You’ll bring strong organisation, attention to detail and communication skills, a collaborative approach and the confidence to ask questions. You’ll also be comfortable working across our Worcester and Droitwich offices. Apprenticeship eligibility will be confirmed during recruitment.

It’s about who you become along the way.

You’ll join a supportive, collaborative environment where your development is guided, your confidence grows and your responsibility increases as you learn.
