Job Summary
The Appraisal Specialist covers all appraisal activity to ensure a smooth process.
Education and Experience
Required:
- Minimum two years’ experience directly related to ordering appraisals within a financial institution
- Experience utilizing Mercury/Encompass to order appraisals
- Familiarity with the FHA/HUD Handbook
- Proficient in accurately identifying property types
- Familiarity with report types – 1004, 1004C, 1004D, 1025, 1073
- Familiarity with AIR/USPAP compliance
- Overall knowledge of the mortgage lending process
Preferred but not required:
- Familiarity with FHA Connection
- Familiarity with Electronic Appraisal Delivery Portal
- Bachelor’s Degree
Skills and Abilities:
- Strong analytical skills
- Proficient internal/external customer service skills
- Proficient written/verbal communication
- Proficient organization skills with attention to detail
- Willingness to learn and adapt to internal/external guidelines and standard operating procedures
- Proficient in utilizing Microsoft Office software to perform daily tasks
