Job DescriptionAECOM is seeking an experienced Application Support Specialist (Project Controls) to join our global digital capabilities team. to be based out of our Enterprise Capabilities office in Bucharest, Romania and will offer the flexibility of a Hybrid work schedule, offering both in-office and remote work schedules. This role bridges the gap between deep technical and functional project management systems.
You will be responsible for monitoring, maintaining, and configuring our global software applications, with a heavy emphasis on implementing and supporting electronic program management systems—specifically Oracle Primavera, Unifier, and Microsoft Power Apps. This position requires a combination of robust system administration skills and an understanding of project controls workflows.
Key Responsibilities:
Application Support & System Configuration
- Oversee the installation, testing, performance monitoring, and maintenance of global software applications to streamline engineering and construction operations.
- Configure project controls platforms (specifically Primavera, Unifier, Power Apps, and other project management software) to meet specific program requirements, workflow designs, and contractual obligations.
- Analyze diagrammatic representations of business workflows and translate them into technical form designs and automated system logic.
- Identify, analyze, and troubleshoot system malfunctions, performing diagnostic tests before releasing application updates.
- Provide tier-2/3 application support for both internal and external system users.
Infrastructure & Database Administration
- Manage domain, server, database, and cloud infrastructure administration supporting digital project controls tools.
- Evaluate, build, and resolve complex software interface issues, utilizing experience with Web APIs to ensure seamless data flow between systems.
- Verify the efficiency of network infrastructure and analyze system metrics to detect and correct program deficiencies.
- Manage user accounts, permissions, and security profiles across applications.
Client Interface & Team Collaboration
- Work closely with the global digital capabilities team, clients, contractors, and consultants to define technical solutions and resolve interface problems.
- Advise senior management on application capabilities, limitations, implementation status, and proactive risk mitigation.
- Train, mentor, and develop staff on system functionality and technical design documentation.
- Assist in marketing and project acquisition by demonstrating technical system capabilities to prospective clients.
Minimum Requirements:
- Education: B.Sc. in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, IT, or a closely related technical field.
- Experience: 6+ years of experience in technical application support, with a proven track record in project/program controls system implementation.
- Technical Skills: Advanced knowledge of computer hardware, server/database methods, cloud infrastructure, and hands-on experience working with Web APIs.
- Domain Knowledge: Solid understanding of basic business practices, accounting principles, and data reporting structures associated with capital project management.
- Soft Skills: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills; ability to listen to users, interpret vague scope guidance, and accurately document technical design information.
- Flexibility: Ability to shift project assignments immediately due to changing priorities and a commitment to providing "on-call" services as required by upper management.
- English language proficiency both written and verbal
Preferred Qualifications:
- M.Sc. in Computer Science, IT, or a related engineering field.
- Oracle Primavera Unifier Certification with direct experience in Unifier form design and workflow creation.
- Hands-on experience developing or maintaining solutions within Microsoft Power Apps.
- Advanced knowledge of front-end and back-end programming languages (e.g., Python, Java, C++).
- Prior application support experience within the Architecture, Engineering, and Construction (AEC) industry
