About the role:

We’re looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Applications Specialist to join our Malvern Applications team, someone excited by science, technology, and the opportunity to make a real impact for customers around the world.

In this role, you’ll work across a powerful and diverse portfolio spanning Malvern Panalytical and Micromeritics Instrument Corporation technologies. You’ll gain hands-on experience with industry-leading instruments such as the Mastersizer 3000 alongside the full Micromeritics range, including systems like TriStar, AccuPyc, FT‑4 Powder Rheometer, and advanced gas adsorption platforms.

Every day brings something new, you’ll support customers, Sales teams, and colleagues through engaging product demonstrations, tailored training sessions, sample analysis, and method development. Your expertise will help unlock insights for customers and ensure they get the very best from our technologies.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Deliver customer demonstrations across Mastersizer 3000 and Micromeritics systems

  • Support Account Managers and Inside Sales with technically informed input on customer opportunities

  • Conduct sample analysis, generate clear reports, and present findings where required

  • Provide training modules for customers and internal teams, with increasing independence as skills develop

  • Perform laboratory measurements following SOPs, supporting method optimization as experience grows

  • Assist post‑installation applications support and troubleshoot application‑related issues

  • Collaborate cross‑functionally with Sales, Product Management, Customer Support, and the global Applications community

  • Maintain timely and accurate updates in Salesforce and follow MP QHSE and BMS processes.

About you:

  • Degree in Chemistry, Materials Science, Engineering, Physics, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Geoscience, or related fields

  • Laboratory experience (academic or industrial)

  • Familiarity with particle sizing, gas adsorption, density measurement, or powder rheology advantageous

  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly to varied audiences

  • Good organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks

  • Experience working with customers or in a technical support environment is beneficial
