Job Summary

The Applications Sales Engineer serves as the technical and commercial bridge between customers, engineering, and sales teams. This role supports business growth by developing technical solutions, driving customer engagements, supporting proposals, and providing expertise in aerospace, space, high-reliability electronics, and radiation-hardened technologies.

Key Responsibilities

Customer Engagement & Sales Support

  • Serve as the primary technical point of contact for customers during pre-sales and post-sales activities.

  • Develop and present technical solutions, proposals, and product configurations.

  • Lead customer meetings, design reviews, and technical discussions.

  • Gather customer requirements and align solutions for aerospace, space, and high-reliability electronics applications.

  • Support capture planning, proposal development, win strategies, and pricing activities.

  • Build strong relationships with engineering, program management, and procurement stakeholders.

Technical Expertise & Product Support

  • Act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in electronic components, subsystems, and radiation-hardened/radiation-tolerant technologies.

  • Translate customer requirements into optimized technical solutions.

  • Support applications involving power electronics, embedded systems, single-board computers (SBCs), flight processors, and space-qualified hardware.

  • Evaluate competitive products and support technical differentiation strategies.

  • Troubleshoot technical issues and respond to customer inquiries.

New Product Development & Strategy

  • Support product development activities from concept through production.

  • Provide customer feedback to engineering and product management teams.

  • Identify emerging trends and opportunities in aerospace, space, and advanced electronics markets.

  • Assist in defining and validating future product requirements.

  • Contribute to product and technology roadmap planning.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Coordinate between customers, engineering, manufacturing, and business units.

  • Partner with Sales, Marketing, and Engineering teams to achieve business objectives.

  • Support technical training programs for internal teams and customers.

Required Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.

Experience

  • 6–8+ years of experience in Applications Engineering, Systems Engineering, or Technical Sales.

  • Strong background supporting electronics within aerospace, space, or defense industries.

  • Experience with radiation-hardened (Rad-Hard) or radiation-tolerant electronic components and systems.

  • Knowledge of power architectures, electronic subsystems, and embedded computing platforms.

  • Experience supporting technical proposals and customer-facing sales activities.

Skills Required

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
