Role Summary:
Flowserve Corporation, a leading manufacturer and aftermarket service provider of comprehensive flow management products and services, has an exciting opportunity for a Project Application Engineer Intern. The position is located in Chesapeake, VA and will provide exposure to all facets of the organization emphasizing on Chemical and General Industries markets. The ideal candidate is a May 2027 graduate, who has completed junior year in Mechanical Engineering major.
Responsibilities:
Assist with quoting activities, from reviewing customer inquiries to preparing accurate proposals for equipment in water/wastewater and petroleum processing applications.
Maintain and update Excel-based cost tools, including converting updates to PDFs and extracting data from Oracle ERP for use in quoting.
Collaborate with the Ignite Engineer and other disciplines on projects to improve quoting efficiency and support the rollout of the new CPQ (Cost Price Quote) system.
Under supervision, Interpret customer requirements and process conditions to recommend engineered solutions and pump selections for optimal performance.
Support general sales engineering tasks, including processing contracts and transferring project commitments to operations.
Requirements:
Must be able to read, write, speak and understand the English language
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel; familiarity with ERP systems (Oracle preferred) is a plus.
Possess basic mechanical aptitude
Excellent interpersonal skills
Must be currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent with at least 2 years of school completed
Available to work during the summer term (May–August 2026).
