Come innovate with the best! As the Application Engineer, you will be conducting and engaging with customers on a defined set of applications and solutions to determine requirements related to Novanta's Photonics products. You will serve as a liaison between Novanta and its customers, distributors, and reps. You will be involved in systems development including design, analysis, integration and testing of electromechanical actuation and motion control systems. This includes working with electrical, mechanical and systems engineers as well as manufacturing operations.
Responsibilities
- Consults with the sales organization and/or customers’ engineering teams to obtain and analyze engineering requirements, available data, and other preliminary matters pertinent to the inquiry or sale.
- Prepares cost estimates for quotations in conjunction with manufacturing engineering or from available data.
- Serves as a liaison to obtain and provide engineering specifications and related information, expedite material requisitions and production work orders.
- Provides technical assistance to interpret, analyze and resolve procurement, manufacturing, installation, and field operating problems.
- Oversees product installation and trial operations, analyzes and resolves operating, and other field problems related to customer installations.
- Prepares reports, maintains records, files, and a references library incidental to application of products. Keeps informed of new developments in relation to engineering fields as they relate to business unit products.
- Trains in-house to gain a thorough understanding of Novanta's products, applications, and specifications.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, preferably in Mechanical, Electrical or Optical.
- 3+ years of work in engineering or sales experience in a technical manufacturing environment.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
- Solid computer skills include MS Office, engineering design software such as Solidworks, MatLab, Altium, etc.
Compensation
The annual compensation range is USD $106,100 to $169,800. This compensation includes a base salary and sales incentive compensation.
