Job Responsibilities
  • Serve as the certified SME across multiple EHR applications/modules; act as the go-to resource for workflow optimization and complex troubleshooting.
  • Independently own workstreams for complex tickets and projects spanning multiple Epic modules and/or applications.
  • Translate system processes and integrated workflows into clear, actionable guidance for diverse audiences (leaders, clinicians, and technical teams).
  • Act as a key technical resource for cross-functional teams, initiatives, and enhancements, providing integrated design and build expertise.
  • Analyze and present complex information to stakeholders, leveraging broad EHR knowledge and robust analysis/presentation skills.
  • Lead cross-pillar issue resolution, considering hardware and security constraints; collaborate with Build and Plan Pillars to scope enhancements/projects.
  • Develop and enforce best practices for integrated build, configuration standards, and change control.
  • Represent UHS at industry forums (e.g., HIMSS, UGM, XGM), sharing innovative design/build aligned to healthcare policies and regulations.
  • Provide forward-looking guidance on tickets, decisions, end-to-end workflows, and emerging regulations impacting system design.
  • Identify and recommend creative solutions across applications, clearly articulating pros/cons and downstream impacts.
  • Produce business cases and decision documents; facilitate patient safety escalations and resolve complex security/ticket issues.
  • Lead post-build transitions, solicit peer feedback, track/trend metrics, and establish workgroups/processes for continuous improvement.
  • Develop materials and support department-wide initiatives, including testing, upgrades, projects, and special updates.
  • Own governance meeting facilitation with operational counterparts; promote open-minded collaboration and diverse perspectives.
Position Qualifications
 

Minimum Required:

  • Epic Lumens experience needed
  • Two to three (2-3) years of healthcare operations (clinical, patient care, administrative, information technology or health information technology experience
    • OR
  • Demonstrated competency in Applications Analyst II role
  • For Epic roles: Current Epic certification(s) 
    • OR
  • Willing to travel for training and achieve certification within 90 days of completion of training at Epic in application as assigned.

Preferred:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a related field (information technology or clinical/healthcare fields)
  • Epic lumens certified with experience in implementation
