Summary: Job Title: Senior PostgreSQL Database Administrator Job Summary: As a PostgreSQL and MYSQL Database Administrator with 3+ years of experience, you will be responsible for managing and optimizing our PostgreSQL/MYSQL databases to ensure high availability, performance, and security. You will play a critical role in the design, implementation, and maintenance of complex database solutions. Responsibilities: Database Design and Optimization: -Design and implement PostgreSQL database solutions to meet application requirements, considering scalability, performance, and reliability. -Optimize queries and database performance through indexing, query tuning, and appropriate database configuration settings. High Availability and Disaster Recovery: -Implement and manage replication, clustering, and failover solutions to ensure high availability and disaster recovery capabilities. -Establish and maintain backup and recovery strategies to minimize data loss and downtime. Security and Compliance: -Implement and enforce security policies, access controls, and encryption mechanisms to maintain data integrity and comply with industry standards and regulations. -Conduct periodic security audits and vulnerability assessments. Monitoring and Performance Tuning: -Set up monitoring systems to track database performance, identify bottlenecks, and proactively address issues. -Analyze query plans and database performance metrics to optimize and fine-tune the database environment. Documentation and Training: -Document database architecture, configurations, procedures, and best practices. -Provide training and mentorship to junior team members, sharing knowledge and expertise in PostgreSQL database administration. Qualifications: -Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field. -3+ years of experience as a Database Administrator with a strong focus on PostgreSQL/MYSQL. -Proficiency in SQL and PL/pgSQL. -Experience with PostgreSQL/MYSQL performance tuning, replication, clustering, and disaster recovery solutions. -Familiarity with PostgreSQL/MYSQL extensions and ecosystem. -Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills. -Excellent communication and collaboration skills. -Must have skills : MYSQL, Snow and ITIL knowledge. -Good to have skills : Oracle, MSSQL, Amazon Redshift15 years full time education
