This position reports to the Software Engineering Manager. The role involves close cross-functional partnership with Business Analysts, Project Managers, IT Application Engineers, and Help Desk to ensure project alignment with business strategies, provide quick-response solutions, and efficiently resolve support tickets for diverse applications.

This position requires proficiency in global administration and development tools used for supporting and reporting from multi-functional applications. Successful candidates must possess excellent customer service skills and the ability to thrive and adapt within a fast-paced global environment.

This position delivers global solutions and expert guidance that strategically influence global business processes and proactively suggests efficiencies in the use of critical global business applications.

Background & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in information technology or computer science or a related field

  • Five years or more of experience in the IT industry, including a history as an Application Support Specialist, Application Administrator, or similar enterprise support role within a corporate environment. This experience must include working with complex enterprise applications (e.g., Oracle E-Business Suite/ Oracle Fusion EPM/ UKG Payroll/ WFM Pro, PTC Windchill, Workday, Salesforce or other SaaS solutions (SAP SuccessFactors, UKG, etc.).

  • Three years or more years of experience performing configuration, implementation, and technical solution delivery utilizing major enterprise applications, including deep expertise with Oracle E-Business Suite/SAP /other relevant SaaS Solutions, PTC Windchill, and Oracle/SQL Server database.

  • Must be familiar with programming languages such as PL/SQL, T-SQL, JavaScript, XML, JSON, HTML, Unix Shell Scripting, Windows Batch, and PowerShell.

  • Theoretical and practical knowledge of cloud provider (e.g. AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud), networks, PCs, Servers, Database Management Systems.

  • Proficiency required in global application administration, SaaS configuration, application support, software development, debugging, and scripting.

  • Strong ability to provide step-by-step technical guidance, both written and verbal, and to enhance the global user experience by implementing automation and extending application capabilities.

  • Capable of employing a structured problem-solving approach to strategically resolve issues spanning global and multi-functional business processes.

  • Required to strategically develop and implement solutions for complex challenges, maximizing the utility of existing resources.

  • Possesses a high degree of motivation and self-management, capable of working independently to achieve goals.

  • This is primarily an Individual Contributor role. However, the incumbent is expected to mentor and provide technical guidance to less experienced team members. While there are no direct supervisory responsibilities, the position will participate in the evaluation of candidates during the hiring process.

Job Responsibilities

  • Acts as the expert technical consultant, guiding global business planning and the development of technical solutions, application implementations, and enhancements. This work directly impacts critical multi-functional processes, including Finance, Engineering, Procurement, Operations, Order Management, Human Resources, and Payroll.

  • Participates in the global planning, execution, and overall management of new application implementations and upgrades across the entire Ebara and Elliott Group enterprise.

  • Ensures that the technical and programming aspects of global systems projects adhere strictly to requirements, while proactively identifying and resolving global system issues.

  • Works closely with Business Systems Analysts and other Application Support Engineers to collaboratively test software and applications under development or implementation, with the goal of proactively identifying and remedying potential problem areas.

  • Collaborates with global Business Systems Analysts, Application Support Engineers, and end-users in the testing of all newly installed or modified global software programs and applications.

  • Provides technical programming expertise and guidance on global systems projects, work requests, and complex problem resolution.

  • Liaises with other global Application Support Engineers to address issues related to program logic and the interoperability of new applications with existing systems software that impacts global multi-functional processes.

  • Works diligently to optimize and improve global business processes through strategic integration efforts. When integration occurs, the role is responsible for minimizing its impact or disruption across all Ebara and Elliott Group global locations.

  • Responsible for executing software tests, clearly communicating and documenting the results, and making actionable recommendations based on test findings.

  • Develops standards and robust processes necessary to support and facilitate the successful integration of all global Ebara and Elliott Group projects and initiatives.

  • Researches and provides strategic recommendations on coding standards, integration tools, and reporting products/services to support both procurement and development efforts.

  • Provides technical guidance, mentorship, and training to less experienced global Application Support Engineers, Business Systems Analysts, and other IT team members.

  • Meets with global Business Analysts, Project Manager, management, business process owners, and end users to define application requirements for multi-functional global processes.

  • Adapt to changes based on global business requirements and strategies.

  • Prepare and deliver global program code to meet documented requirements.

  • Advises global IT department members and supervisors on the appropriate, effective, and efficient use of software code and established coding best practices.

  • Develops and deploys global programs and reporting capabilities that meet all documented requirements and specifications.

  • Adhere to change management and global documentation standards.

  • Occasionally work evenings and weekends meet deadlines.

  • Occasional business travel is required for attending professional seminars and conventions, as well as visiting global company locations.

  • Leads and participates in global sessions, presentations, and meetings covering critical application and business functions.
