The roleThis role is accountable for enabling the investment business and related functions through the provision of stable, high-performing applications and the delivery of continuous improvement and change across the application landscape. A key focus is ensuring that investment data is reliable, timely and of high quality, supporting the business in making informed decisions to secure members’ futures.
In addition to maintaining operational stability, the role plays a central part in driving and delivering change. Working closely with stakeholders to enhance investment processes, implement new capabilities, and optimise existing systems. This includes contributing to and leading application-related change initiatives, ensuring alignment with business priorities and delivering measurable outcomes.
The PersonA technically capable and motivated individual is sought, with experience gained within an investment management environment, ideally within a fast-paced and evolving organisation. The successful candidate will bring strong production support expertise, alongside a demonstrable track record of contributing to and delivering change that meets the developing needs of an Investment function.
A solid technical foundation is important, with experience or exposure to tools and technologies such as Microsoft SQL Server, Power BI, Python, APIs, job scheduling and PowerShell. Knowledge of Windows Server, SFTP and supporting Microsoft Azure-based workloads would be advantageous.
The role requires a self-directed individual with a strong work ethic, who takes ownership of issues and sees them through to resolution. A positive and proactive approach is essential, along with a clear commitment to delivering high standards across both service support and change activities.
Effective communication skills are key, with the ability to engage effectively with a range of stakeholders while managing competing priorities and working to deadlines. The successful candidate will be comfortable troubleshooting and resolving technical issues, while also contributing to wider delivery objectives.
This opportunity will suit a collaborative team player who actively shares knowledge, works across teams to deliver the best outcomes, and is motivated to continuously improve the application landscape and the way support is delivered to the Investment Business.
