Applications Specialist – Mineral Processing

Location: Morocco
Travel: Up to 50%

Solenis is seeking an experienced Applications Specialist to support the growth of our mining solutions portfolio across Morocco and the wider region. This customer-facing technical role will focus on key mining segments including Gold, Silver, Copper, Nickel, and Phosphate Rock, providing hands-on application expertise and technical support to customers and commercial teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide technical application support to customers, sales teams, and partners throughout the sales process.
  • Conduct on-site technical evaluations, product trials, troubleshooting, and performance optimisation.
  • Support the development, validation, and commercialisation of new and existing mining solutions.
  • Prepare technical reports, trial proposals, and customer recommendations.
  • Collaborate closely with Sales, Business Development, R&D, and Equipment teams to deliver customer-focused solutions.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Degree in Engineering, Chemistry, Metallurgy, Mineral Processing, or a related technical discipline.
  • 10+ years of experience in mining, mineral processing, or related industries.
  • Strong expertise in solid-liquid separation and process water treatment.
  • Experience with mining and heavy industry chemical treatment applications.
  • Knowledge of utilities water treatment systems.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to work independently in a field-based role.
  • Willingness to travel extensively across customer sites.

Skills Required

  • Tertiary qualification in a technical or scientific discipline
  • 10+ years' experience in mining processes with strong expertise in solid-liquid separation and process water conditioning
  • Experience with mining and heavy industry chemical treatment applications
  • Knowledge of scale inhibition, defoamers, grinding aids and filter aids
  • Familiarity with utilities water treatment
  • Hands-on applications testing, troubleshooting and technical sales support (customer-facing)
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work independently
  • Willingness to travel up to 50% of the time
  • Based in Zambia, South Africa, or any country within the Copperbelt
