Application Specialist - Energy

Anton Paar Italia develops, manufactures, and distributes high-precision laboratory instruments, while also providing customized automation and robotics solutions.

The Application Specialist supports business development within their area of application expertise by analyzing market trends and customer needs. Leveraging in-depth knowledge of Anton Paar Italia's solutions and maintaining direct contact with stakeholders, key accounts, and opinion leaders, they identify growth opportunities and contribute to the expansion of the business.

• Use of CRM systems to extract data related to key accounts within the assigned industry sector.

• Market and trend analysis (AI tools, web research, LinkedIn, etc.).

• In-depth knowledge of the portfolio of Anton Paar solutions available for the assigned industry sector.

• Strong aptitude and willingness for cold calling, with the goal of engaging new accounts and identifying new contacts.

• Analysis and segmentation of customers’ industrial processes within the application sector to identify pain points:

  • Conducts interviews with key accounts and opinion leaders, visits customers, and builds relationships with stakeholders within the relevant industry.

• Identifies the best match between Anton Paar solutions and customer challenges: evaluates available solutions and selects those that best address customer pain points through an integrated approach.

• Collaborates with Sales and/or Marketing stakeholders to align them with identified business opportunities and relevant marketing initiatives.

• Scientific communication and knowledge sharing on industrial applications (e.g., participates in industry events and trade fairs or acts as a speaker/presenter).

• Drives the generation of new leads to support cross-selling opportunities within the assigned industry sector.

• Residence in Northern Italy required, preferably in Lombardy or Emilia-Romagna.

• Master's degree or higher in a relevant scientific field. Preferred disciplines: Materials Engineering, Chemistry, Industrial Engineering, or Electrochemistry.

• Preferred experience: 1-3 years in the industry, with knowledge of the production of battery cells, modules, and battery packs for electric vehicles, energy storage systems, and industrial or specialized energy storage applications.

• Willingness to travel (30-50%).

• English language proficiency at B2 level.

• Effective and persuasive communication skills.

• Influential leadership, with the ability to guide internal stakeholders and cross-functional teams without direct managerial authority, fostering alignment around shared market strategies.

• Strong public speaking skills, demonstrating confidence and professionalism in public presentations, industry events, and meetings with stakeholders and opinion leaders.

• Strong aptitude for building and maintaining long-term professional relationships with customers, partners, and industry stakeholders.

• Ability to work in dynamic projects focused on continuous development and growth, with a proactive and results-oriented mindset.
