As an Application Scientist, you will be part of our marketing and sales team in Boston. Your responsibilities

  • Provide expert application support to customers across the US working with ZI's T&M instruments (lock-in amplifiers, impedance analyzers, AWGs)
  • Conduct onsite system integration, demos, and training at customer laboratories
  • Build and maintain strong customer relationships to support sales growth and customer retention
  • Represent Zurich Instruments at trade shows, conferences, and academic events across the US
  • Collaborate with the global sales and product teams to relay customer feedback and application insights
  • Produce technical content including application notes, presentations, product documentation, and demo videos
  • Actively develop your commercial skills in a role that blends deep technical work with customer-facing impact

Your profile

  • PhD or Master's in Physics, Electrical Engineering, or a related experimental science with hands-on lab experience
  • Solid practical experience with dynamic signal measurement — familiarity with lock-in detection, impedance spectroscopy, or waveform generation is a strong plus
  • Comfortable with scientific programming, ideally Python, for instrument control and data analysis
  • Strong communicator who can explain complex technical concepts clearly to both academic and industrial audiences
  • Customer-oriented mindset with a genuine interest in building relationships and developing commercial skills
  • Self-driven, proactive, and comfortable working independently across a large territory

Skills Required

  • PhD or Master's degree in Physics, Electrical Engineering, or a related experimental science
  • Hands-on laboratory experience
  • Practical experience with dynamic signal measurement
  • Familiarity with lock-in detection, impedance spectroscopy, or waveform generation
  • Scientific programming experience, ideally with Python, for instrument control and data analysis
  • Ability to clearly explain complex technical concepts to academic and industrial audiences
  • Customer-oriented mindset and interest in building relationships and developing commercial skills
  • Self-driven, proactive, and able to work independently across a large territory
