Job Summary
IFF, a global leader in food ingredient solutions, is seeking a dynamic and passionate individual to join our team as an Intern - Application technologist in our application lab in New Century, KS. In this role you will be part of a team and assisting Application Specialists and Application manager on the very specific identified projects as a part of summer internship program. This role will work on the testing application of various IFF Food Ingredients. The application test work needs to conduct in laboratory and pilot-plant scale and environment. You will be part of a dynamic and diverse team that is passionate about being the premier partner with our customers to create delicious and sustainable products for consumers around the world.
To perform this position successfully, the candidate should be able to perform the following tasks including, but not limited to:
- Assist application specialists on a selected technical project from experimental design to completion, which includes testing on equipment, analytical procedures, equipment set-up and preparation of materials.
- Able to follow the instructions and operate small scale equipment to produce trial samples.
- With the training provided on the job, operate various laboratory equipment to test the samples, collect, organize, and analyze the data, and present the trial reports.
- Maintain a safe and clean work environment in their work area.
- Present the final internship project report to the application team.
Qualifications
- Enrolled in BS / Masters / Ph. D Degree, Food Science or Dairy Science.
- Good time management skills and a team player
- Good communication, verbal and written
- Basic computer skills (Word / Excel / Power point etc.,)
- Ability to lift 50 pounds
