Our Office of Undergraduate Admission is hiring several Application Processing Assistants, for a fixed-term and remote, application processing and data entry assignment. The position will take place between the fall/winter of 2026-2027 (November through February or January through March).
Core responsibilities include:
- Thoroughly review and process applications and supplementary materials in a timely and accurate manner. Examples of work will include following up for missing application materials, reviewing domestic and international high school curriculum, recalculating GPA, and other application related data entry.
- Support database management by merging duplicate records, identifying and labeling document types, and cleaning entries for accurate mail merges.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree preferred
- 1-3 years data entry experience

- A combination of education and relevant experience from which comparable knowledge is demonstrated may be considered

- Provide own computer, reliable internet access, and any preferred accessories (ie: mouse, keyboard, monitor), with the ability to download Google Chrome and university software

Given the sensitive nature of the admission selection process, application processing assistants cannot be employed by another university, high school, or organization that provides college counseling support, nor can they be employed independently in work that provides college counseling support.
Application Processing Assistants cannot have a child currently applying to Carnegie Mellon University as a first-year or transfer applicant.
In addition, due to the time commitments of the role, we are unable to hire candidates who are currently enrolled in a full-time degree seeking program.
Additional Information:
- This is a full-time position, Monday through Friday from 8:30 AM -5:00 PM EST.
- This position follows university holiday closures but is not eligible for paid holidays.
- Remote work assignments are limited to Pennsylvania.
- Candidates must be able to provide their own computer and reliable internet access, with the ability to access the Google Chrome browser and download university required software.
- All team members are required to attend onboarding sessions, training and weekly meetings via Zoom.
