This position is eligible for a flexible work schedule arrangement at the present time. The arrangement may be delayed for training or other job acclimation purposes and remains subject to change.
Your Responsibilities
As an Application Platform Lead for Waterloo Product Engineering Center located in Waterloo, IA, you will...

  • Serve as the technical expert for engine integration into internal application product lines. This includes defining engine and aftertreatment solutions for new product programs, as well as driving issues to closure on inflight projects and current production products.
  • Leverage Systems Engineering tools and Engine Engineering knowledge to scope APDP projects in a way that limits complexity, meets partner and engine program needs, mitigates risk, and ensures distinctive product quality at program launch.
  • Grow and share deep customer understanding and in-depth machine operation knowledge. Translate this knowledge into prioritized engineering requirements for new product programs.
  • Coordinate partner integration efforts for JDPS EPDP programs, especially E30/E40 and Tier 5.
  • Support Global Teams working on Excavator, Roadbuilding and Forestry platforms to build collaborative relationships with USA based engineering/manufacturing teams.

What Skills You Need

  • Three or more years professional experience in technical roles related to diesel engines or vehicle engine applications
  • Demonstrated problem-solving and issue resolution skills
  • Demonstrated technical communication skills
  • Strong prioritization, project leadership, and schedule management skills
  • Flexibility in dealing with changing and/or partial information while working with diverse teams


What Makes You Stand Out

  • Systems Engineering Experience and/or Certification
  • Experience with John Deere Production Systems in an engineering, project management, or PVV capacity
  • Diverse background in varied JDPS or vehicle functional areas (e.g. Design, Performance, Controls, PVV, CI, Manufacturing)


Education
Ideally you will have a degree or equivalent related work experience in the following:

  • Degree in an Engineering / Technology discipline or equivalent experience
