What you'll be doing:

As an Application Performance Analyst you will be working across the IT organisation to help improve the quality and performance of the website, administrator the monitoring platform and provide actionable insights to the senior managers. Additionally, you will help support the internal users with training on the monitoring platform.

What to expect:

If you aren’t familiar with the monitoring tools (mainly Dynatrace) then there will be training available, both face to face and online, to give you that knowledge. This is also applicable for any technology that we monitor from learning how to code, query databases or building a new web server.

Our websites are a primary revenue stream and you will be involved in their ongoing operations from development, testing through to production. Therefore you won’t be sat in front of a computer producing reports, you will be using the monitoring tools to look for potential issues and then working with the relevant teams to help resolve them. Very little of which happens in spreadsheets

The scope of work means that no two days and likely to be the same, you could be assisting a project manager with a monitoring solution one minute and then on a priority meeting discussing a hardware fault the next.

In general:

This role is unique as it will provide a good solid grounding across multiple aspects of IT, there is a little bit of everything – operations, support, project management, development etc. and would be ideal for someone starting or recent in their IT or Ecommerce operations career.

To be successful in this role you will need to have a questioning nature, a willingness to learn, be able to multitask and be comfortable when priorities change at a moment’s notice.

Job Specifications:

  • Production of the daily, weekly and month report packs
  • Working alongside Dynatrace specialists – plan, co-ordinate and deliver training to the users
  • Daily walk through of the performance dashboards/reports to identify potential issues and changes
  • Assist with web outage investigations as and when required
  • Administration of the performance portal – creating users, dashboards and monitoring scripts
  • Participation in special projects
  • Update and manage the monitoring screens in the office
  • Ensuring property alignment between the environments and regions
  • Other duties as assigned

Furthermore:

  • Broad knowledge of web technologies and infrastructure (including Cloud based implementations)
  • Workable knowledge of programming languages (Java, SQL, HTML, JavaScript)
  • Work will be performed under minimal guidance - independent judgment is used to determine best approach
  • Collaboration with internal or external contacts - participate within ad-hoc teams for special assignments/projects
  • Responding to requests from senior management, internal and/or external contacts
