Job Description:

Job Title:  Application Specialist

Job Summary: The individual selected for this role will play a pivotal role in advancing new application development within the 3M China Electronics Lab. The focus will be on delivering high-value, differentiated solutions to key customers in the electronics markets, including consumer electronics, automotive, and IoT sectors.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Provide support to Key Account teams through in-depth technical expertise in electronics-related applications.
• Drive the growth of product applications by converting competitive products and developing new applications.
• Actively participate in local and global New Product Introduction (NPI) projects by offering Voice of Customer (VOC) insights and technical requirements.
• Manage multiple customer projects effectively.
• Deliver product and application training to both internal and external audiences.
• Collaborate with Key Account teams to replicate successful application implementations.

Basic Qualifications:

• Master's degree or higher in Materials, Electronics, Mechanical, Polymer, or Chemical Engineering from an accredited university.
• A minimum of 5 years of experience in electronics materials and applications.
• Proven ability to lead and drive customer projects independently.
• Experience in managing customer complaints.
• Strong skills in global teamwork and innovation.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in consumer electronics or automotive sectors is preferred.
• Familiarity with tapes, adhesives, and film products.
• Experience in thermal and EMI/EMC application development.
• Proficiency in both oral and written English.

Location: Shanghai, 3M R&D Center, China
Travel: May include up to 70% domestic and international travel.
