Position: Application Engineering Manager (DDR5, SPDHUB/TS focus)

Report to: Senior AE Manager / AE Director

Summary:

SPD Hub Application Engineering Manager will lead the validation and characterization of digital logic for DDR5 SPD Hub (Serial Presence Detect Hub) including register interface, control logic, security features, and I3C/I²C communication modules. This position requires both technical and leadership skills owning solid digital design fundamentals, familiarity with memory architecture, and experience in PCB Design, Python Scripting while working closely with multi-disciplinary groups to drive and design key aspects of SPD Hub products.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop reference design for Data Center applications.
  • Develop custom PCBs using our solution for worldwide customers.
  • Develop and prototype new concepts with the support of FPGAs.
  • Define specifications and support the development of new products for the Data Center product line.
  • Road Test and qualify new parts according to the requirements of the part.
  • Write technical articles, datasheets, and application notes.
  • Support MPS’s sales team and customers.
  • Participate in bring-up, validation, and failure analysis for engineering samples.
  • Provide documentation including design spec, timing diagrams, and integration guide.
  • Good written/verbal communication English skills and strong team work/collaboration.

REQUIREMENTS:

•   MS in related engineering field

•    5-8 years of industry experience in electronics

•    Solid understanding of circuits, signal integrity, transmission lines,

•    Understanding of clock recovery circuits and equalization techniques

•    Solid experience with PCB design with high-speed signals

•    Good knowledge of high-speed communication protocols and testing

•    Oral / written proficiency in English

•    Excellent communication, interpersonal and organizational skills

•   Experience with DDR5 SPD Hub or RCD/PMIC product development

•   Solid understanding of power regulation architectures

•   Knowledge of I3C (MIPI) protocol, I²C/SMBus, or SPD EEPROM behavior.

•   Experience with security logic, including encryption/authentication basics.

•   Experience with programming, scripting and automation

•   Languages like Perl/TCL/Unix/Python and C/C++

•   Executing tasks that hit project milestones

•   Previous experience with sensor and temperature sensors
