Application Engineering Intern

Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories (SEL) seeks a professional, innovative, and detailed student for our Electrical Engineering Intern position located in Phoenix, Arizona. As an Application Engineering Intern in S&CS, a typical day might include the following:

• Providing support for communication/automation/protection test beds.

• Performing testing on existing and new technology.

• Documenting test bed activities and results.

• Supporting Sales and Customer Service and product development activities related to communication/automation/protection.

• Supporting application engineers to develop best practice application guides for SEL technology that provide secure and compliant solutions.

This job might be for you if you:

• Are a current student pursuing a degree in Electrical Engineering with an emphasis in power systems with two years of undergraduate experience in related field.

• Are able to work part time during the school year and full time during the summer.

• Are self-motivated/a self-starter.

• Have strong writing, documentation, and speaking skills.

• Are able to learn new skills and assume new responsibilities.

• Are able to work cooperatively in a team environment.

Pay Range Data

($19.50 - $32.50 per hour)* Our intern pay is determined based on the internship role (the work you would be doing) and your year in school (when you plan to graduate). Talk to your recruiter if you are curious about the rate for your year in school.
