The Applications Engineering Team sits within the Product Team and is responsible for helping launch and ensure the success of all SPAN products. Applications Engineering is at the nexus between multiple internal teams including Product, Software/Hardware Engineering, Service and Support, and Sales and is able to translate feedback and requirements into actionable initiatives to improve products and process. Applications Engineers are expected to possess knowledge and hands-on experience with all SPAN products and adjacent electrification products.
Responsibilities of the Applications Engineer include:
Update and author internal and external product documentation (Manuals, Application Notes, Troubleshooting documents, etc)
Create test plans and test products in both field and lab environments to ensure they meet written product requirements
Act as a subject matter expert on SPAN products and applications to answer internal and external customer questions
Gather and organize product feedback from internal and external customers and partner with Product Managers and other stakeholders to independently execute on creative solutions to improve products
Serve as the voice of the customer (Installers and Homeowners) to ensure SPAN launches and maintains the best possible products.
Potential Projects for the Applications Engineer include:
Review and improve product requirements early in the development phase to anticipate and avoid downstream application issues
Identify and characterize any software configuration issues during the controlled field piloting of new SPAN products
Act as the primary point of contact with third party labs as they test functionality of SPAN products
