The Role
The Application Engineer designs solutions on the Seeq platform for process manufacturers, integrating data ecosystems, leading deployments, and collaborating with cross-functional teams for project success.
Summary Generated by Built In

The Application Engineer designs, builds, and delivers repeatable, high-impact industry solutions on the Seeq platform to accelerate time-to-value for process manufacturers (O&G, Chemicals, Pharma, Power, and related industries). Solutions include use case discovery, solution design, packaging of accelerators/templates, pilot-to-scale delivery, enablement, and lifecycle ownership across customers and partners. Seeq builds advanced analytics software for industrial process data and operates as a remote-first company with a strong culture of collaboration and iteration.

What You Will Do:

Design and Build Industry Solutions

  • Author scalable solution components (accelerators, templates, calculators, KPIs, dashboards, workflows) in Seeq Workbench, Organizer, and Data Lab aligned to priority industry use cases and personas.
  • Package solutions for reuse with documentation, example datasets, validation plans, and success criteria ready for partner and customer delivery.

Deliver and Operationalize

  • Lead pilots and scale-out projects to validate value, harden solution patterns, and transition to operations with customers and partners.
  • Define solution success metrics, value hypotheses, and verification methods; measure and communicate outcomes to stakeholders.

Integrate and Architect

  • Connect solutions to enterprise data ecosystems and downstream tools (e.g., OPC UA/OPC HDA; SQL databases, data lakes/warehouses; Databricks; Azure ML; AWS Lambda; Power BI/Tableau) following security, scalability, and performance best practices.

Collaborate Cross-Functionally

  • Partner with Industry Principals, Product Management, and Engineering to align solutions to roadmap, close capability gaps, and influence prioritization.
  • Support Product Marketing and Solution Consulting with credible demos, narratives, and GTM assets; assist targeted pre-sales engagements where solution expertise is required.

Enable Customers and Partners

  • Create enablement kits (deployment guides, reference architectures, playbooks) and mentor Seeq partners to scale delivery globally and in local languages.

Continuous Improvement

  • Gather field feedback, monitor adoption, and iterate on solution quality, usability, and learnability; contribute patterns into Seeq’s solution library and training content.

Requirements
  • Process manufacturing experience in O&G, Chemicals, Pharma, Power, or related industries; ability to translate operational objectives into analytics-driven workflows.
  • Time series analytics proficiency, including feature engineering, event/condition detection, asset segmentation, anomaly/quality logic, and KPI design.
  • Historian and OT data experience with platforms such as AVEVA PI, IP.21, DeltaV, Wonderware, or GE Proficy.
  • Hands-on Seeq and/or data analytics skills, including creating solutions in Seeq (Workbench/Organizer/Data Lab) and working with Python and SQL for solution logic, automation, and packaging.
  • Customer-facing delivery experience leading pilots/POCs to production; strong value articulation, scope management, and cross-functional alignment.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or Systems Engineering, Applied Math, Data Analytics, or related discipline— or equivalent relevant experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Industry-specific methods such as batch analytics (pharma), reliability analytics, energy/carbon accounting, APC/optimization exposure.
  • Familiarity with cloud/data platforms and modern industrial data architectures (Azure/AWS/GCP, Databricks).
  • Experience enabling partner ecosystems and creating reusable delivery assets (templates, playbooks, training).
  • Strong technical communication across SME, manager, and executive audiences; proven in demos, workshops, and solution storytelling.

Physical Demands and Work Environment

  • The employee is regularly required to communicate effectively, work with digital tools, and collaborate across time zones in a remote environment; occasional travel to customer sites, partner locations, or events may be required (typically 10–25%, varying by project portfolio).

What We Do

Seeq Corporation develops software and services that accelerate industrial process analytics on industrial process data.

Industrial process data is the collection of time-series data, events, and signals, as well as related contextual data, generated by production and manufacturing organizations. Due to the high volume, velocity, and variety of these data streams, industrial process data typically requires extensive manipulation to enable insight and analytics.

Seeq's sophisticated yet easy-to-use analysis tools are applicable for industrial markets like oil refineries, pharmaceuticals, and energy production.

Seattle-based Seeq also has satellite offices in the western United States and Canada. Launched in May, 2013, the experienced founding team includes executives, engineers, and data scientists formerly with OSIsoft, Honeywell, Microsoft, and Insitu. Seeq is led by Dr. Lisa Graham, CEO.
