The Application Engineer is responsible for the design, development and maintenance of the assigned applications through the coordination, as Project Manager, of an appropriate Engineering team which includes design, analysis, prototyping as testing.
This position acts as technical customer front end and discusses the technical requirements; has the responsibility for the project management until achievement of internal and customer design validation.
- Provide leadership that foster the application team progress;
- attain the development goals on time and within the established budget;
- supervise the progress of the assigned projects assuring alignment to Morse Product Development Process and to the customers' due dates;
- collaborate with customers professionally exchanging information, negotiating requirements and delivering a high level engineering service, including the support of engine measurements on customer's site as appropriate;
- keeps his (her) functional team informed about customers' requests and needs and the progress of the project;
- proactively interacts with other departments and locations for multi-functional activities;
- manage the development phases and results (drawings, simulations, FEAs, DFMEA, DVP&R, prototypes, analysis of returned hardware) keeping accurate tracking and traceability;
- plan multi-functional design reviews and sign-off meetings in accordance to the existing engineering global procedures;
- prepare for each assigned project an accurate electronic Evidence Book assessing controlled storage of data and traceability of the project history, (international automotive standards);
- assure the technical maintenance of the programs already validated and launched in mass production;
- collaborate with IT team and Local Security Officer (LSO) for the implementation of information security requirements.
