Job Description
As an Application Engineer, you will provide engineering analysis, coordination, and control for engineered motor control center and intelligent power package orders. You will review customer specifications and drawings, resolve technical questions, prepare bills of material, coordinate engineering deliverables through manufacturing, assembly, and test, and support project managers on risk, quality, lead time, and delivery requirements.
You will report to the Engineering Manager and work onsite in Shanghai, China.
- Review customer specifications and drawings, including one-lines, elevations, and schematics, for correctness and completeness, and resolve discrepancies or technical exceptions.
- Prepare complete ABOM and FBOM deliverables that satisfy order requirements, and develop necessary electrical schematics and drafting instructions.
- Provide technical support to internal and external customers, including field sales offices, project managers, manufacturing, assembly, test teams, and customer engineering personnel.
- Coordinate engineering activities during order transfer, kick-off, manufacturing, assembly, testing, customer approval reviews, final inspection, witness tests, documentation delivery, and field support(<20%) as required.
- Support the project manager on commercial and execution topics such as change order recognition, risk assessment, lead time control, quality control, margin, delivery date, and alignment with the as-sold proposal or order.
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
- At least 5 years of experience in electrical engineering design.
- Fluent English communication.
- Experience with low-voltage electrical equipment, such as switchgear, motor control centers, distribution boards, or similar LV packages.
- Ability to prepare, review, and coordinate technical engineering documentation in English.
- Familiarity with company policies, quality requirements, information protection, and EHS expectations applicable to engineering order execution.
- Electrical automation background.
- Creo design experience.
- Experience with multiple electrical package projects.
- Project management or technical project coordination experience.
- Experience supporting factory assembly, test, customer inspection, witness test, or field issue resolution.
